Richard,

>Ive been away for a few days in Stirling in Scotland (Home of William wallace and Roberet the Bruce). Wow talk about the base of Scottish History.

That's pretty cool ... I've always wanted to visit Scotland. My sister's husband is of Scottish ancestry and they've visted Scotland several times. He's a big fan of William Wallace (he may even be related, I'm not sure ... I'd have to ask my sister) and she got him a replica of Wallace's sword for his 50th birthday a few years ago.

>Why are things so complicated in C#. I have been developing in VFP and OOPs for nearly 10 years and it is all so complicated. Who would have thopgth that KeyUp works and KeyDown Doesnt.

It's just a matter of learning the Framework. And who knows why there's a difference between the KeyUp and KeyDown event ... I certainly don't know why, I just discovered that there was a difference a couple of weeks ago and I've been developing in .NET for more than 4 years now. There's always a bit of a learning curve when you have to learn something new ... it just takes time and before you know it, it will be second nature to you, just as it is in VFP for you now.

Speaking of which, we use a few VFP utilities (that I wrote back in 2002) for managing schema changes in SQL Server, for auto-generating things like basic Stored Procs for all our SQL tables, and other handy little things like that. Yesterday, I had to make some enhancements to one of the utilities and it sure took me awhile to get back into a "VFP code mentality" after working with .NET for so long. I still haven't finished my enhancements. <g>
