Title:
Data not being written to the table
Hi I have an interesting problem that was only reproduced after a lot of testing.
I have a program that prints ourt client checks to a dot matrix printer, then writes the data to a table. This table is not buffered (although other tables are). Normally the function works correctly, it prints the checks and writes the data to the table.
But if several users (in testing atleast 3 users replicated the issue) are all printing checks at the same time, and all printing many check (which does happen in the client setting) occasionally one or two checks will simply disappear from the table. they are not (or appear not to have been writen) to the table. There is the possibility that the record is being over written, as I have added code that double checks for the check right after the printing is done, I have yet to recieve an error that a check was not in the table.
Does anyone have an idea for what I can look for?
as for the code that writes to the table, it is a simple APPEND BLANK command and then a REPLACE xxx WITH xxx COMMAND.
Any help would be appreciated
Database is located on a novel file server running netware 5 and all users write to this one database and one table
