Yes, Samuel Clemens writes on the basis of the local accent, and that is precisely what makes it hard reading. It must now be more than two decades ago that I read it, but I remember Huck's father complaining against the "gov'ment". And that is just one of the changes in the language.

Harry Potter has language with accents in a minor degree (when Hagrid speaks). But I read most of these books in the Spanish translation, where it doesn't show.

Winnie the Pooh use children's language, but that is not so bad (for learning the language), if I remember correctly. I do remember the books writing certain expressions with capital letters, to emphasize something, something like Helpful Bear.
