If you watched television news programs originated in the United States right after the 911 event you would have seen what I described. It was very focused and attempted to give the opinion that all French, German and Muslim people hated the United States and took great delight in what had happened. I did not record the news events but they do have a lasting impression – a great propaganda tool!

By the way our daughter Cristina, has traveled to Germany, France, and England for the last three years, and studied at universities in those countries. She told me that there are people in Germany and France that indeed hate the United States and its people. At times she felt threatened and did not say where she was from. Some of these people thought that she was from Canada.

Cristina said that the English people were very warm and friendly. Perhaps that is because of our last name! After all, William Whiteley’s department store in in Westborne Grove is famous in England! During World War II, Hitler ordered that it not be bombed. Whiteley's is said to have been the first department store in the world.

By the way my brothers name is William! :)
