>"Little Women" for a 7 year old boy? I don't know about that one. The differences between boys and girls are sometimes overstated IMO but I do think there is a difference in their reading preferences. Boys, 0N AVERAGE, are more interested in stories with action and exotic locations or plots. Girls, even at that age, seem more interested in people and the interactions between them.

May be "Little men" then, though it's the second book.
Or may be not for now.

He loved "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz", read with a great interest Brother's Grimms stories (complete edition), read quite interesting book, which has several plots in one (e.g. at the end of the page you will read "If you want to follow this path go to page ..., otherwise go to page ..."), so yes, he would be interested in boys books with some mystery involved...

I think I had a list to keep him busy for a few months...
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
