I would expect the UT to be reasonably representative, opinion-wise, of the world at large, wouldn't you?

The most recent Administration revelation of secret interrogation centres around the world comes as a shock to those who Secretary Rice specifically addressed (virtually each major European capital) when she stated unequivocally that such places did not exist and that the U.S. does not, and never has, engaged in torture.

Then comes a move by the President to make retroactive laws to protect Americans against breaches of the Geneva Conventions, and even to re-write some of their clauses.

I don't think you can blame anyone for complaining, louder and louder, at the antics of your Administration at this point. If that's "anti-Americanism" then I guess so be it.

Some people have the silly notion that you should be open with friends and tell them when they're getting off-target. Some people have the crazy idea that a problem can't be fixed if it isn't exposed in the first place. If those amount to "anti-Americanism" it's a curious situation. Shoot the messenger?
