The fun of rhyming slang is not to say the rhyming bit. SOmetimes you use it all your life without realising. e.g. I started a thread on this some time back, when I realised that to "blow a raspberry" was short for "raspberry tart" - hence make a farting noise. For years, in my home town, we talked of being "brassic" when we had no money. Later I learnt it was "brassic lint" for "skint".
