China has been doing the same thing recently. Mao has practically been scrubbed from the high school history textbooks. Tianenmen Square is equally MIA. With the internet it's getting harder for the Chinese government to keep the lid on the parts of Chinese history that have fallen out of fashion, but not for lack of trying.
