Try the Dell Outlet center http://www.dell.com/content/segmenter.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dfo and I know here in Austin there are 3 or 4 places that have used equipment for sale. Dell even has some new notebooks down at that price range. I'm sure Raleigh would have similar places.
