I've got an Acer Aspire 5100. It is a few hundred more but it has 1 gig of ram and a 120 gig hd. It has builtin wireless, dvd/cd writeable, as far as the car, i bought a 2 pack car converter from Sams for 25.00, so I just plug it in there. The laptop comes with a Turion AMD dual core chip. So far, so good. It is about the third Acer I've had. I've found them to be the best at price/performance. Also, you can get them at Circuit City and get a no interest deal for 6 mos to 18 mos depending on the special they are running.
