Hi,
>I wonder how the government does it when they calculate retirement age for people born on the 28th and 29th of February. Of course, if I know the government, in 2009 when a person born on Feb 29th, 1944 shows up, they'll tell him, "Sorry, call back in 2204".
I'm pretty sure that, in the UK at least, a person born on the 29th February is, for all legal/governmental matters, assumed to have been born on the 28th.
But of course, in general, there's nothing special about someone born on the 29th. Feb - we all have to wait an extra day for our anniversary when the 29th occurs in that year.
Also, since birthdays come round (roughly) every 365.25 days it means that if you were born at (say) 10p.m on June 2nd your first birthday celebration should really start on June 3rd (at 4am) <g> (assuming it's not a leap year :-()
Regards,
Viv
