>>Starbuck, my favorite character :-) always getting into trouble. Those two were great!

>New Starbuck is a woman!.. Terrible... She is a smoker like original Starbuck too but... Why they changed his sexuality?

Changing times. Women are no longer viewed as trhe "stay-at-homes" but take an active part in the military, so I suppose it might offend women if their roles in the "future" didn't reflect this.

As I pointed out in the other old SF thread, women in the old days of SF were viewed as no more than secretaries and there to serve men. There was one awful old film I saw where there were 2 "girls" on the ship, and all they seemed to do was bring coffee to the male crew. Imagine having such a payload allowance that you could afford to take servants on a space trip.

Besides, It's the sex, as in "gender". that's changed, not necessarily the sexuality - different meaning.
:-)
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
