I can appreciate Carter's intentions, but having lived through his presidency, I remember his failures. His achievements came
after his time in office. It is good that no person can sit in the highest office of this country for longer than 2 terms, but at the same time, when a person with really good intentions gets to the office it takes 2 terms to learn how to get things done and actually accomplish anything worthwhile. Even then your achievements are overshadowed by your failures - as in the case of Jimmy Carter.

>>>You don't think he does those things because he truly believes they're worth doing? I agree that Carter wasn't a very good president, but I think he's a helluva man.

>>In this I agree with you 100%. He was also probably the best-intentioned President of our times.

>John Koziol doesn't like it when we say good things about Jimmy Carter. I think I had said "most underappreciated". Though both of our complements of Jimmy are sort of back-handed. :-D
