Set wordwrap .F., set the caption and afterward set wordwrap .t., that will trigger the label to change it's height.

As a sidenote: It may also change it's top, if you set alignment to center. It does that in a way that the text will be centered in respect to it's original top and height values. As you want the labels aligned left you surely don't have that "problem".
