This comment alone shows how little you obviously know about the history leading up to this event.

You really need to do some investigating first. Jsut off the top of my head, you should easily be able to find an article somewhere talking about how one of the main reason for the first Gulf war stopping when it did was Bush Sr. hesistence to go and topple Saddam because of the information he was receiving about possible senarios in that event.

The most famous quote in this regard is Colin Powell telling bush jr. on his desire to start a war with Iraq and topple Saddam, "you break it, you own it."
