I am working on a procedure which creates a file of one parent record and multiple child records of several child tables.

This record set should be stored in one file for the purpose to be imported into the same application.

My first intention was to create an XML file, but CURSORTOXML() creates only one file of one table (record). I could append all records of the child tables to the same file, and do some coding to run through these tables during import.

Or I could create the XML file myself with the correct structure and disassemble it during import.

Is there a better way to do this, having one export file containing a record set of parent and child records?
