Now you KNOW that's out of line. I hate the bloody things and their users as much as the next grumpy old man, but there ARE times when their use is legit and have resorted to them myself. However, they should be banned from use:
- within 2 minutes of leaving the office
- within 10 minutes of the user's destination - "I'm on the bus - I'll be there in 2 minutes"
- above 0.25 decibels of voice
- by ALL women (they slap them to their ears as an accessory, like earrings)
- where their use does not improve the lot of the user (e.g. OK to call from the grocery store to check if artichokes are needed, but not for a general confab)
- where it's just to continue the argument started 5 minutes ago in the house
