With report variables this is much simpler than replacing in the cursor; report variables have the built-in capability for accumulated totals.
Call the variable "Accumulated" (or any other appropriate name), set the expression to "Debit - Credit", set calculation to "Sum", and reset to "End of report" (if you want to accumulate for the entire cursor).
Use the report variable instead of a fieldname, in the detail band.
