Ah - but what about the spouse (mare)'s parents :-{
I suppose you could do a limited tree in an 'upside down' fashion. Each horse would have two child nodes - one for the stallion, one for the mare. But I don't think you can implement what's normally regarded as a genealogical tree in this fashion....
