This is not correct. You can create views which will update data on more than one table. The maximum I have had situations till now were only 2 tables so I don't know whether it would work for more than 2 tables but it should.

Though, from a design viewpoint it would require that both the tables be based on a 1-1 relationship. Moreover, you need to specify the Key Field for each table in the Update Criteria Tab of the view designer and also set the right updateable fields.
