Actually, the Marlins have done this twice. They won the '97 Series and then Wayne Huizenga held a fire sale. Over time, they rebuilt and won the '03 Series, after which the current owner, Jeffrey Loria (not to confused with Jeffrey Lurie, who owns the Eagles) held a fire sale. This year's Marlins were exremely heavy on rookies; I think I heard that 22 different rookies were on the roster at various points this season.
