Howdy, Craig. Nice to meet you, dewd :^).

>>Just read Tamar's remark. LOL!!! :^). I got it, Tore. I'm changing
>>my name to "Craig C. Craig," with the middle initial being Craig, of

LOL! "You know, the name Craig sounds very VFP-MVP like. Have you
ever thought of socially promoting Microsoft and its products?
With a name like that, something tells me that you'd go far in
the MVP world!" :^) :^) :^)

Randall

P.S.

Even though I totally can't stand Microsoft and have to deal with
their products -- BY FORCE! :^) -- on a daily basis, this kidding
and joking is in no way meant to detract or take away from the MVP
award that a lot of folks here deserved. It's just that I REALLY,
REALLY COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY HATE Microsoft!
So, don't take
anything I say against Microsloth personally.

Note: This does not mean that I don't respect the time
and effort you guys had to go through to get the award.
Mega-Ultra Kudos!!! And I mean that from the bottom of
my heart!

It's just that, I watched the operating system wars with
my own two eyes, and Gates and crew should have
NEVER won. The ONLY reason why Gates and
crew won was this: IBM was the only name the biz types recognized
while looking for computers for the office, and the other players
names (such as DEC, UNISYS, Apple, Commodore, and Atari were not!
PERIOD!

The IBM Selectric typewritter sat on three quarters of the worlds'
desktops. When companies found out about computer wordprocessing and the
time it saved -- and the fact that they could reduce their number of
employees! -- IBM was the only name the biz types (read: management
and purchasing) recognized. They were familiar with IBM; they knew
they were getting, at the very least, mechanical quality. Moreover,
they knew that there was no way in heck that anyone at their
company would ever get in trouble for purchasing an IBM computer,
unless, of course, the "powers that be" thought it was a little
pricey. Gates rode on IBM's coat-tails, laughing all the way to
the bank. Also, once he had a firm foothold and was entrenched,
he was smart enough to never let loose his grasp, buying out this
competitor and that, and he even resorted to swipping technologies
from various companies, such as the GUI interface and mouse from Apple.
(Actually, Apple and Microsoft both stole the technology from Xerox PARC,
and Xerox later sued both companies on grounds of methods-patent and
copyright infringement. These suits were settled out of court, actually.)

Xerox PARC is who we should all be bowing to, IMHO. So when I say
I hate Microsoft, I guess I'm really saying that I hate Gates, as
do the vast majority of my friends that I work with who are forced
to use Microsoft products on a daily basis.
