>I grew up on Miracle Whip. Then later in the 80s I spent 3 years in Germany and developed the habit of eating mayo (the REAL kind) with my french fries. I have eaten real mayo ever since and now Miracle whip (which I loved as a kid) tastes way too tangy to me.

I guess it's the tang I like and the blandness of mayo that I don't. Tastebuds are fickle things. All my life I hated broccoli, and then one day, I liked it. Heaven knows why. I also suppose one's disposition also plays a part. I also grew up absolutely detesting mushrooms. Then one day I actually tasted some. What can I say.

>>>>>Vinegar taste is so strong that you’ll be drunk w/it before you get the taste of the fries.

They gave real fries in a paper cone wrapped in wrapping paper to make the cone much larger. By the time you finished the fries and drank the vinegar, walking along the boardwalk, you'd just be hitting the next chip stand.

>>>Oh, memories of childhood. Who can argue against?
>>>My mom used to make us homemade alioli (mayonnaise with a ton garlic paste) and homemade fries.
>>>I have to be careful now when I pig out with the alioli. I can loose some friends.

>>I think it's actually called aioli (crossword puzzles), and do you know, I've never tasted it. Personally, I'm not a big mayonnaise fan. Kraft puts out a product called "Miracle Whip", which is a salad dressing that looks and acts like mayonnaise. I've always used it instead. I love it and I guess because of it, I never developed much of a taste for mayonnaise. Interestingly, I've never used Miracle Whip as a salad dressing, but for egg salad or tuna sandwiches, it can't be beat.
