>>>Jim's the one who wants the crispy fries. When I was a kid, I used to go down to Sunnyside Beach here in Toronto, and on the boardwalk, there were chip stands. They gave real fries in a paper cone wrapped in wrapping paper to make the cone much larger. By the time you finished the fries and drank the vinegar, walking along the boardwalk, you'd just be hitting the next chip stand.

>>Sounds almost identical to the beach esplanade in my town, Brighton! (Homer voice) "Driiiink theee vinegaaaar (DROOL)".
>>
>>Glad you canucks know how to eat 'em the gourmet way, with vinegar. :-)

>But not just any vinegar - malt vinegar.

I tried them with the white spirit vinegar, but that comes from the the pickled eggs jar - yuck!

>>My Monday lunch treat, at work (cos I go straight from work to choir, then pub till 11 - no dinner), is to get chips and battered sausages from the local chippy and eat them in the graveyard.
>
>Can't say I've ever tried battered sausages. What sort of batter?

Same batter as the battered fish from the chippy.
