The Chicago FUDG October meeting will feature member presentations. At these kinds of meetings, great ideas cascade in a mighty torrent.

First up will be Steve Munson's Everyware: "VFP App Drives Sales for Over a Decade"

"A Fortune 50 communications company wrestles with a mostly manual process for proposing products to their customers. They want to reduce the length of the sales cycle. Everyware developed a client-based application that streamlined the process from Contact to Contract.

Utilizing our expertise with Visual FoxPro, we incorporated engineering and pricing capabilities, taking a two week quotation process down to 10 minutes. Training time is minimal. Reports include proposals, contracts, internal forms, as well as automation of Excel, Word and Outlook.

First developed in FoxPro for Windows over 11 years ago, we now continually work to improve and maintain the app with new releases at least four times a year for three different product lines. It has enabled sales personnel across the U.S. to quickly and accurately configure and quote offers, and to close deals faster.

After demonstrating the application I'll present my solution for creating data driven pageframes."
