I've left only about 3-4 icons on the desktop, and only two toolbars on the taskbar (hmmm... too many bars there, how can we be sure they weren't drinking when they made Windows?). One is the QuickLaunch with 15 icons, and the other is from a directory on desktop, with just four. Currently WExplorer uses only 7 megs of memory.

Haven't rebooted meanwhile, so can't say how long will it plow my disks, but if my hunch is right, it will continue to check all the files in all the subdirectories of any app that has ever sneezed in the general direction of the registry.
