My issue is actually specifically on the sexual predator thing (though I do think there's way too much interest in small problems because big ones are too hard to solve). Right now, the media (both news and entertainment) are very big on the notion that no sex offender can be cured or treated and therefore, we should essentially lock them all up.

This just isn't the case. The experts agree that perhaps 15% of sex offenders are a real risk, but we're passing laws left and right that make it extremely difficult for the others to get treatment and then get on with their lives.
