The Bush administration has not been known for diplomacy. In fact relations with many nations are worst now that in recent history. Shoot from the hip. I wonder what effect the Bush announcement of the “Axis of evil” had upon the nuclear weapons programs of Iran and North Korea?

Should you announce to the world that there is an “Axis of Evil” as President Bush did during his State of the Union Address of January 2002? Iraq, Iran and North Korea are the three members of that axis. On March 19, 2003 the United States initiated a preemptive attack Iraq. Different reasons have been given to rationalize and qualify why this was done. The reality is that we did attack and we are still there - at war.

This is the historically the only time I can remember that a war has continued even though the military and political system of a country have been removed. If indeed this is a war on terror, then we are at war with the world.

In the mean time Iran and North Korea have been in the news concerning their nuclear weapons programs. Both countries have openly expressed concern that the United States would attack them. Would these feelings exist had we not attacked Iraq and announced to the world who our enemies were? Perhaps the nuclear programs of Iran and North Korea would have been delayed but that is uncertain.

If you were the leaders of Iran or North Korea what would you do? Sit back and wait to be attacked? Try to show some muscle?

Any country announcing a nuclear weapons program is of concern to the world. Somehow I think that we are not giving the best approach to this problem. But then again “Bring em on”! We can wipe out the world hundreds of times with our nuclear stockpile. Yes sir. Just let her rip!
