Are you talking about C or C#? ... your post title says one, your post says the other.
Loops are loops, whether it's VFP or C#. You'd probably also use the .Substring() method, just like you would in VFP. Is your daughter using Visual Studio? A little help from Intellisense should be all she needs to complete this assignment.
