Manage to solve the problem. Apparently it was a hardware fault!
Now having another problem, after opening of the drawer a number of times, the entire PC hangs...
Running a Dell P4 machine (No comm ports supplied) but with a com port card added.
Suspect the card has problems. Any idea where to get good quality com cards? Very hard to find such cards here as market no longer uses this.
