Last year I made several trips to the New Orleans area where I carried supplies to the cops who were destitute. Several of our fellow developers sent me donations so we could buy things that were needed and pay for gas down and back.

A few days ago, I got an email from Alex Wieder telling me he was in town and asking if I'd like to get together for lunch or dinner. Alex gave me a pretty good donation to help in the effort last year, and the men and women of the Ocean Springs, MS, police department were very appreciative. They were definitely doing without. Alex and I had a nice steak dinner last night and talked about foxpro and how M$ has mismanaged it, and how we could do it better, and yada yada yada. Anyway, we had a good visit and the best part is Alex wouldn't let me pick up the check!!!!

Sooooo, I just thought I'd let everyone else know that if you are coming through Memphis and you want to take me out for a nice steak dinner, give me a day or so notice and it's on.

One of the things we discussed was the fox community and we both agreed it is definitely unique. I'd just like to say that has been one of the best things about fox (except for the speed, flexibility, roi, etc). You can always count on a helping hand from a fellow guru, or sometimes even a neophyte who stumbles across a nugget. Kudos to the FoxGang!
