>In US it's National Do Not Call Registry https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx. It did cut telemarketers calls covered by it to me to zero.

Except for a few waves of police beggars, who really had to be told to get my number off the list, and an occasional poll run by an university, I haven't had a telemarketer on the phone for years.

Actually, this is a good reminder - got to renew my unsubscription there. It lasts only one year, and then they get a couple of months until they must use a fresh exclusion list.

And a funny thing about these polls - I once responded to such a poll. It sounded plausible that my number would get such a call once in a while, so OK - it took about 15 minutes, but I had the time and patience. Which sort of explains the job rating of a certain president for June.

The more funny thing, which just proves how good their random number generators are, is that I got three more such calls during the next few weeks. A truly random sample :).
