But a film that grabs you by the cahonies in the first minute, then runs with them - that's a different matter.

>>>Well, I have seen the odd clips from it over the years, esp in programmes about the best films of all time, et al, and my general impression has been that it's a load of cajones (thanks for the spelling :-). Mind you, I've never been too keen on ANY of Awful Wells's films, for that matter.

>Oh :-) I hear a definite "Ka" sound when I've heard it said so I didn't even notice the initail "o". Even after you wrote that I still couldn't see where I'd gone wrong for a while. Selective blindness I guess. :-)

>>As far as Orson Welles, you've convinced me. Not only is "Citizen Kane" a lousy movie, so are all the rest of his movies. Thanks for setting me straight!

>No need to get sarky! I just said I've never been keen on his films and did not try to convince you of this; it's just a matter of taste. What was that film with the r-e-a-l-l-y l-o-n-g one-camera opening scene (at a border crossing or summat)? Was that CK? That was impressive but the following film failed to grab me.

"Touch of Evil". It wasn't one of my favorites, either. Any movie that wants you to accept Charlton Heston as a Mexican starts out at a disadvantage IMO <g>.
