Thank you, Michel. This was very helpful, now the page runs and gives an ASP.NET error with the correct version.
The error points to the line in the WEB.CONFIG:
<authenticaion mode="Windows" />
Even if we change the authentication mode to "None" the same error.
The error message says that "This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application IIS". How could this be? I installed several application application on WinXp Pro where it was simpler: you create a virtual directory and good to go.
On Server 2003 you have to add a Web Site and then under that Web Site add a Virtual Directory. This is confusing to me. Both Web Site and Virtual Directory point to the same physical folder.
Any ideas/suggestion to what I am missing?
