>>>Hi everybody,
>>>
>>>I'm wondering if you had Phonics when you had been learning in school. We're having some troubles with it. The idea is that there are pictures and you have to find a word describing the picture that ends or starts with the same sound as the first in a row.
>>>
>>>I am having hard time trying to help my son. Sometimes it's hard to understand what word could describe the picture the best and sometimes I had to look into the dictionary to figure out the word, like I just did with the "wreth" (I didn't know this word before).
>>
>>No such word, surely. You mean "Wreath" (as in flowers at a grave) or "wrath" (anger)?
>
>I meant the first.
>>
>>These all "-ath" words?
>>
>No, not necessary.
>
>>>
>>>But one set of pictures we can not really dechiper.
>>>
>>>First picture is a picture of a dalmatin (or could it be an indication of a dirt?) taking a bath. We need to find a picture that ends on the same sound (bath?)
>>
>>What's a dalmatin - dalmatian dog?
>>
>
>Yes, the dog with spots, which are either indication that it's dalmatian, or dirt.
>
>>>
>>>The second picture looks like a TV to me, but my son corrected me it's an ice cube.
>>>
>>>The next is a wrist.
>>
>>"-ath" word? Dunno
>>>
>>>The following picture is also not clear, perhaps, it's a road or a river.
>>
>>Path?
>>
>
>Yes, I think so.
>
>>>
>>>And the final picture is of a boy with hands on his cheeks and a soap in front of him. Looks ike he is washing his face. But what would be the word?
>>
>>Lather (as of soap)?
>
>I don't know this word, will have to consult the dictionary.

So what is the phonic or phonemic theme? they seem to be quite disparate.
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
