I finally found a solution to my problem. I now create charts in my application using C1Chart and save them into a dataset and pass the dataset to CR. For some of the charts, the quality was good but for others (like the pie chart), the quality was not not good until I found yesterday that saving the chart as a tiff (instead of a bmp) gives me an excellent quality.
