Naomi & Cetin,
1. Using VFP9, I edited my database, and removed the table that GENDBC was having trouble with. This time GENDBC runs OK. I then ran the resulting PRG file to recreate the database. That failed because there were 5 views that used ODBC datasources that were not available.
2. So, I removed those views as well. Now, GENDBC runs without error, and the resulting PRG file runs without error and recreates the original database.
3. This still does not solve my original problem. When I use my original database with all views and the table that was offending GENDBC removed, the VS2005 ATL OLE DB Consumer Wizard still crashes.
4. Further more, if I try the ATL OLE DB Consumer Wizard on the database successfully created by GENDBC (in step 2 above), the wizard still crashes.
5. Note that Excel has no problem using these databases as external sources using the OLE DB provider for Visual FoxPro.
I have submitted this as bug report to the Microsoft Visual Studio C++ team. So far only response I got from them was that they thought it was a VFP problem and would forward it to them. Hmmmmm
Thanks for your help and your thoughts on this.
Jim
