- There were reports that Arizona coach Dennis Green was heard screaming 'YOU WANT TO CROWN THEM....GO AHEAD AND CROWN THEM', referring to the Raiders, after the Cardinal's recent loss. I'm sure Denny Green will find someone to blame. By the way...in Indy, Edgerrin James averaged about 4.3 yards a carry. He's averaging 2.7 yards a carry with the Cards. Their offensive line sucks.

- For years, the Tampa Bucs couldn't win a game when the gametime temp was below 40 degrees. There's a new statistic...when the gametime temp is above 100 degrees, Donovan McNabb will throw INTs, vomit on the field, and lose a game.

But let's be honest - the Philadelphia sports media has to be the most idiotic set of reporters in the country. They're totally blaming Donovan for the loss - there are many reasons the Eagles lost the game. The Eagles special teams, defensive secondary, and overall team discipline is really bad right now. It's hysterical to hear local sports analysts on KYW talk about Donovan having an MVP-type year one week, and then bashing him the next.

- Is Tampa out of it? Maybe not.

- Just when I thought Carolina was on a run, they got hammered by the Bengals. Before Sunday, I thought the Bengals were a bit soft. But they showed up for gut-check time.

- My Chiefs are only 3-3, but won one of the most exciting games at Arrowhead in years...and finally, they beat a playoff contender. If this team makes the playoffs, point to last Sunday's win as the reason. In the first qtr of Sunday's game, KC's defense looked like monsters.

- It is so easy to second guess a decision, but Parcells probably made the right move in benching Bledsoe. He had to know that they'd lose the game, but 3-3 is hardly a death sentence in the NFC. If Roma is as good as people believe, Dallas isn't out of it.

- but speaking of teams that ARE out of it...Washington.

- Since the Raiders won, I can't make jokes. But I can repeat a question from last week...will the real Jax Jaguars please stand up? 3 home wins, 3 road losses.

- The NFC has one dominant team, the Bears....and several strong teams in Seattle, Vikings, Giants, Saints, and Carolina. Philly is a question mark. For years now, 10 wins would get you into the playffs in the NFC...but don't be surprised if a 10-win team in the NFC is sitting at home in early January.

- And don't be surprised if the Giants hand the Bears their first loss...Giants look like a team on a mission. At some point, the Bears will get soft.

- Watching the Broncos play is like watching paint dry. But they're winning.

- If the Patriots run the table, they'll be the most overlooked 15-1 team in NFL history. They're not doing anything special....except winning.

- I am so glad that the Falcons won on Sunday against the Steelers. After seeing Cowher run up the score against the Chiefs and then pull that last-second timeout bit, I felt some satisfaction when the ageless one [Mort Anderson] kicked the game-winning FG in overtime.

- The Jets are very quietly improving. If you take away the shellacking they took in Jax, they've been impressive almost every game.

- Nick Saban has to be the best coach in the NFL at dealing with the media. The media tried to bait him after their loss to GB, but he wouldn't fall for it.

- Indy won again....yawn. When they win in January, then it's important.

- For the first time, I see the thinking behind the Texans drafting Mario Williams.

- When was the last time that BOTH super bowl teams failed to make the playoffs the following season? It could happen...
