You could add a comment... but when we began using #DEFINE rather than embedded giant expressions when building HL7 strings, maintenance and debugging became vastly easier. I've been a great fan of #DEFINE ever since. ;-) FWIW, if you always use a .h file in your apps you can successfully obfuscate your code automatically even if some swine manages to decompile it.
