>Hilmar, in one breath you are saying that "You don't need energy simply to maintain a force" which is over unity, then in the next breath you saying it is not possible, please get your facts straight.
>
>Over the years I have witnessed many over unity processes, especially in the area of harmonics. Probably the best example I can give is running a low speed diesel main engine for prolonged periods (more than 1 minute) within one of it's critical speeds, the resulting harmonic amplification can result in the total failure of the engine i.e. the shearing of a 36" Diameter 100 Ton steel Crankshaft Journal.
>
>The energy to do this is well in excess of 100 times the maximum output of the engine.

Without having read all of this thread, it looks like there's some commingling of the concepts of force and energy happening. Shearing of a shaft requires force. Forces within the engine are the result of its extracting energy from supplied fuel. Harmonic multiplication of such forces is a well-understood phenomenon, and, as you've pointed out, can result in spectacular failures.

>The point I make is this, there are numerous examples of where real time processes defy the current accepted model, but they are not commonly seen unless you have experience in the heavy enginerring industry.
>
>Another example I can give cavitation on a ships propeller, where does the flash of light come from when the cavitation bubble collapses, the process shouldn't have sufficient energy to cause any damage, but bad cavitation can bore a hole straight thru a prop in a very short time.
>
>Numerous Professor's have looked at this process and have come away scratching their heads saying this can't happen as the amount of energy involved can't cause this amount of damage.

My understanding is that propellor cavitation damage is caused by sonoluminescence, the effects of which have been understood for some time now: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonoluminescence . Fundamentally, this is another example of harmonics/resonance.

>From the latest research a reference has been made to the fact that the energy may be coming from the quantum field, but this isn't possible, is it ?
