Oh my gosh, that worked! Lesson 1 in referencing OO. I am in for a long learning curve :) Thanks Beth!!!!!

Now if I could only figure out why the grid records are locked? I'll go see if I can use what you just taught me in the debugger to check grid's RecordSource and see if it is read only...
