>>Are you sure that Hugo Chavez meant himself and not his country? If a President pledges support, it typically means he is pledging his country's support...

I agree, in case it wasn't clear, I meant Chavez was speaking as the president of Venezuela.

>>>Did I miss something? Didn't Hugo suggest Argentina may invade Iran to get to the former President? I realize it was not meant literally (well I assume not), but the concern about Iranian/Argentinian relations deteriorrating due to Argentina's wanting to prosecute the former President (and all others involved) were real. Since Venezuela vowed to support Iran in any conflict, that pits Venezuela against Argentina. Now would all of the South American countries sit back and allow Argentina to go at it against Venezuela and Iran? Well, maybe so...

No disrespect intended, but you surely do.

Argentina’s Federal Judiciary authorities have requested unsuccessfully back in 1994 the capture of Iranian Diplomats a few weeks after the terrorist attack that killed 85 and demolished AMIA’s building (a Jewish community center that assisted people on getting health services, jobs and cultural activities among many other things).

At the same time, Chavez and Argentinean President are very good friends (once again, both representing their countries). Chavez (or Venezuela, if you like), recently bought almost 2 billions (out of 3 B projected) in Argentinean treasury bonds.

Both presidents and the president of Brazil are in negotiations to build a 6500 miles natural gas pipeline, transporting the resource from Venezuela to both Brazil and Argentina.

So, no matter how bullying President Chavez gets around the world, it won't cause both nations to have an issue, not even close in the near future.

And remember, President Chavez will do anything to angry President Bush. It comes from the times this Administration welcomed the coup d’État that replaced Chavez for 48 hours a few years ago.
