I use this Hungarian notification since 15 years. I believe it was when I followed one of YAG's session in the early 90's or when reading the CodeBook. As for me, I use it all the way in my .NET framework and applications. There is no shame in using it and I believe it is much more intuitive than what I usually saw in all those .NET samples on the net. I asked a question about this to YAG in the July interview as to know if he thought of doing such a book for .NET developers. I felt the topic was relevant because it seems that in this world, there is simply no convention. I would say that at 80% of the time, whenever I read a .NET sample, I cannot understand anything about the naming convention as there is simply no convention. I believe a scope and type convention should apply at least in every property and variable names. A proper casing should also apply followed by a proper way of naming things. As simple as it gets, it just isn't there in the .NET world. One of the reason we went good with that in the VFP world is because things like CodeBook and sessions on naming conventions were done in the early ages and we were able to know what we were doing from that point. I just wish the same would have applied at first in the .NET word.
