Since the Heisenberg principle works in the case of the coverage profiler as well, a comparison/log without the coverage profiler is often necessary or at least helpful. COV can be a great help, but used without simple logging is prone to overestimate the time spent in those parts which consist of many fast program lines. I'v seen people optimizing sections of code which were only taking a sizable percentage when running under the COV - running the normal way the program was only minimally faster.
