Someone have experience to encrypting and decrypting among Java and vfp ?

I know that exist several public algorithms as blowfish, but, have somebody proven experience with a algorithm that works Ok. among both languages?

The issue is, a front-end J2EE app encrypts data in a Varchar column and a Back-office VFP app must to decrypts this. J2EE runs in a UNIX server.

We have tried several libraries, but unsuccessfully.
