I agree with you wholeheartedly!

If MS doesn't intent to continue with VFP, I certainly do hope that other big software firms either buy VFP from M$ or make their own VFP version! It would be such a sorry event if VFP is killed by MS purely because Mr Gates does not prefer it - defies logic really.

Unfortunately, Bill Gates' preference obviously isn't Visual FoxPro, in spite of the logic of its superior performance in many areas, especially data handling. .NET is evolving so fast that it doesnt' seem to me to be matured enough yet to use as a database tool; I still favor VFP over .NET even though I think .NET is great. I've had a coupel C# classes and I think it's great. I've seen some huge improvements between the 2003 and 2005 versions of C#.NET. I expect we will see some more, but frankly, those improvements are coming as a result of input by VFP developers who know data. I've never liked VB 6.0 or any of its predecesors for handling databases, as it has always seemed to me to be a painful experience, whereas FoxPro just made sense and was really much easier to use.
