I just read that IE7 forces that to be shown to the user as a new standard. There does not seem a way to avoid that. This is really insulting. I do not know who came up with that standard but this defuses some of the application standards. In our application, we have icons in some forms for pick list selection. This is within the application. There is no hurt here that could be done. We DO NOT WANT THAT address bar on top. This takes space and shows a very long truly not necessary URL to the user. Unless I didn't read correctly, I would be really happy to hear more about it and also as to know if someone has found a fantastic way to avoid that annoying restriction.
