>Then it looks like you will need a 2nd graphics card to support 2 monitors.

>>>There are some graphics cards which contain a dongle that allows for 2 monitors to be connected to the same graphics card (my system at work has this - it is a 256mb ATI RADEON X600 (DVI or VGA) on a Dell Optiplex GX620) and some have both connections on the card itself (DVI and VGA). If you do not have that type of graphics card, then two graphics cards are required. At home I have a AGP and a PCI card to handle 2 monitors. You just have to tell cmos which one has priority (if you have 2 cards) and also in windows which is the primary monitor. Whichever route you go, make sure your system is compatible or purchase a card that can be returned. Also, pay attention to the type of monitors have. Not all monitors work with DVI and you may require a DIV->VGA converter to use a CRT monitor. NVidia does a good job at handling multiple monitors and I hear tha Matrox has some higher end card that do well with multiple monitors. At home I have a CRT and a LCD monitor (using two cards)
>>>but at work I have two LCD monitors using the DVI on the one card which works very well.

>>>Do you have any documentation for your card?
>>
>>No, just what is on the emachines site.
>>
>>>Perhaps a y-cable would work since the website for ATI states that the x300 supports dual monitors. Do your monitors have a DVI or VGA connection (newer monitors have both)?
>>
>>VGA as far as I can tell at the present. I have a REAL old monitro from the late 90's and a brand new PNP monitor from eMachines.. here at it's specs...
