The president has a press secretary who qualifies statements made by Bush, the day after they have been made. Kerry does not have a press secretary and therefore no one to do damage control for him.
How many times have we heard, “What the president really meant was…”. Be it Bush, Kerry or anyone else, I can understand what you stated so get it right the first time! :)
