Hi Cetin,

>Check event log to see if SQL server is really started listening on TCP/IP port. Do not trust default 1433. If you find the entry listening on ... then enable that port on firewall (you said it's off though).

Thanks, but I'm no longer at the client's site (and neither is the network as they rented the machine for the day) so I can't actually check anything, but the firewall was definitely off. So the firewall could not have been the problem.

I will have to do this installation at many sites throughout the Caribbean so I'm sure I'll encounter it again and was hoping someone may have seen the same problem and know what to do to solve it.
